How it works:
Laser hair removal works by focusing a laser beam at the base of unwanted hair follicles, causing them to stop producing hair, so no more in growing hairs. The laser works by grabbing on to pigment present in the hairs, this treatment is not effective for white, blonde or grey hair.
Is it safe?
Laser hair removal is a very safe treatment to have done at High Grade House and is a proven long-term solution to ridding yourself of unwanted hair. The treatment can be performed on almost any area of your body leaving you with that freshly removed feeling. A series of treatments ensures targeting of all the hair follicles for effective long-term hair removal; we normally recommend a course of 6-8 treatments.
What to Expect from your laser hair removal treatment?
At High Grade House your first discussion with a practitioner should clearly set out your expectations; He or she should be able to prescribe the most appropriate type of light treatment for your laser hair removal procedure.
A medical history should be taken to ensure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have the treatment. You would also normally be asked to read detailed information and sign a consent form at this time which means that you have understood the potential benefits and risks associated with the procedure recommended.
Photographs may also be taken by the practitioner for a "before and after" comparison at a later date.
Laser hair removal Treatment - procedure?
Laser hair removal generally requires no special pre-treatment care. A cooling gel will be applied to the skin and you will be required to wear eye protectors for all laser and IPL machines.
Depending upon the type of system used, you may experience a slight stinging sensation in the area treated during the procedure. The treatment usually takes between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area.
Repeat procedures of Laser Hair Removal?
The procedure may be repeated every 4 weeks for hair removal and every week or two for skin rejuvenation or so for 5 or 6 courses to achieve the desired effect. Afterward, every 6 months for maintenance, as required.
Recovery after Laser Hair Removal?
Most patients will be able to return to work immediately following the procedure.
Post-treatment advice may include:
- Moisturizing the area treated regularly;
- Not exposing the area treated to the sun without sunscreen for at least 2 weeks to reduce the risk of pigmentation or change in skin color.
- A high factor sunblock should be used daily to protect the skin;
